Acrylic Pour over texture on Canvas Panel 8x10"

Substrate:  Mont Marte 8x10 inch/20.3 x 25.4cm Canvas Panel.

Background:  Various gels (Golden Course Molding Paste, Golden Glass Bead Gel, Liquitex Blended Fibres, and Liquitex Ceramic Stucco) through stencils were used to create a textured background.

Painting: Dirty pours of different viscosity acrylic paints. The thicker paint needed to be pushed around with a painting knife.

Finish: Atelier Traditional Gloss Varnish.

Frame:  It needs a frame (without glass) but both the white (pictured) and black and timber frames I have don't quite look right either. I think I'm going to have make a frame and paint it. Maybe silver or grey or red?

Abstract Acrylic Knife Painting 18 x 24cm Untitled 2017 #1

Substrate:  Mont Marte Studio Series 18 x 24cm/approx. 7" x 9.5" (280 Studio Cotton Duck Single Thick) stretched canvas covered with thinned Unbleached Titanium.  

Painting:  Mostly using a painting knife and thick application of:  Atelier Interactive Light Red Ochre and Matisse Structure: Unbleached Titanium, Paynes Grey, Van Dyke Brown, Australian Sienna, Trans. Venetian Red and Aqua Green Light.

Abstract - Poured Landscape

When you haven't felt inspired to paint for a very long time, getting motivated is hard. This is my second go at jump starting painting again.

Abstract Poured Landscape over texture & silver paint

I found an 8x8-inch canvas that had texture paste that looked landscape like and painted silver acrylic over it. Then using my fluid mix with blues at the top and greens at the bottom, plus some white, I pushed and tilted the canvas until I was happy with hove the colours had flowed. The only thing is I should have used a warmer colour at the very bottom to give more perspective.

Watercolour - Experiment in creating distance

This is a really simple watercolour trying out this paper and creating distance using cool colours in the back and warmer in the front.

Artist Quality Watercolour on 12x23cm Art Spectrum CP (medium) 300gsm paper

It is actually two experiments. First I was trying out some new paper I got from Art Spectrum. It is CP (medium) 300gsm 100% cotton. It seems much smoother than the Arches Cold Pressed I've been using. I wet the whole area and was trying to create the painting in one go. I didn't like the bottom area and left it for a few weeks.

Then I was practicing creating distance and decided to give this painting another go. I wet the bottom area only and washed on purple to create the hills in the background hoping they would bleed a little. When dry I did the same for darker and greener coming forward. Leaving to dry each time. Finally I dry brushed the trees in thicker green and burnt sienna at the very front.

It has a bit of a sunrise/sunset colouring and I feel so peaceful looking at it.

Matisse: Diox Purple, Cobalt Teal, Southern Ocean Blue, Burnt Sienna, Australian Sap Green , Australian Yellow Green and Jo Sonja Titanium White. Colours were blended together with a brush, fingers and painting knife.

Watercolour - My first completed painting

I've finally completed a watercolour painting I'm happy with (well good enough to leave alone before I ruin it).

I think it needs a little more dark but I'm going to leave it alone (this is a new concept) and learn for the next one. It is based on a painting from Frank Clarke's DVD "Simply Painting".
